Tri-Capacity Operation for Enhanced Efficiency

By providing three levels of capacity – 33%, 66% and 100% – the system offers the flexibility to match cooling or heating demand more accurately. Operating at reduced capacity when full capacity is not required reduces the amount of energy used, and prolongs the unit’s lifespan.

Consistently Comfortable Temperatures

Operating at partial capacity allows the system to maintain temperature, and avoid the sudden swings that occur with traditional on/off systems.

Attractive Cost Savings

In commercial settings, where demand can fluctuate during the day, the ability to operate efficiently at partial load can lead to lower energy bills.

Flexibility is Key

The versatile tri-capacity operation allows it to adapt to changing occupancy levels and weather conditions, ensuring optimal performance in both peak and off-peak periods.

Wide Operating Range – from -10º C to 50ºC

The system operates effectively and efficiently across a wide range of outdoor temperatures. From as low as -10ºC up to a scorching 50ºC, it delivers reliable cooling and heating, whatever Australia’s extreme climate throws at it. This is crucial for maintaining a comfortable indoor environment for occupants, boosting both productivity and well-being.

Super-Efficient EC Plug Fans

EC plug fans reduce the fan speed to precisely match the specific airflow requirements of the system. Compared to belt-driven fans, they achieve an efficiency increase of up to 50%, and compared to AC fans, they achieve a 20% efficiency increase.

Enhanced Corrosion Resistance

The Hydrophilic Blue Fin coating provides a protective barrier for both indoor and outdoor coils, significantly reducing the risk of corrosion caused by exposure to harsh environmental conditions and Australia’s challenging and diverse climates.

Adjustable Indoor Airflow

Precise control of indoor airflow via the easy-to-use Control Interface offers the flexibility to accommodate varying occupancy levels or environmental conditions, as well as  ensure optimal performance and air quality, while reducing energy costs.

Defrost Cycles

Adaptive Demand Defrost

By optimising  defrost cycles and activating when necessary, Adaptive Demand Defrost:

Additional Coil Coat Protection*

Additional full coil coating protects the coils from corrosion caused by exposure to environmental condition such as moisture, salt and pollutants. This optimises heat exchange and improves the unit’s energy efficiency. Ideal for coastal or industrial areas.

Anti-Freeze Protection

Build-up of coil icing can hinder airflow and reduce cooling performance. Anti-Freeze Protection detects ice and stops the compressor, then automatically resumes cooling when the system is safe, ensuring continuous operation and minimising downtime.

Improved Ventilation

Outside Air Damper* allows for controlled fresh outside air intake, enhancing indoor air quality by increasing ventilation and reducing build-up of indoor pollutants. Utilising ‘free’ cooling reduces the load on the compressor while ensuring compliance with building codes.

3rd Party Damper Control*

This feature allows seamless integration with third-party dampers, optimising energy efficiency by using outside air for cooling. It enhances comfort, reduces operational costs, and supports flexible system design and sustainability goals

Hot Water Heat reclaim (Desuperheater)*

This optional feature efficiently recycles excess heat from the HVAC system to rapidly heat water, enhancing energy efficiency, reducing costs, and supporting eco-friendly practices by minimising waste and lowering carbon emissions.

Louvred Grille Guard for Extra Protection

By shielding the unit from environmental impacts, the louvered grille guard extends the lifespan of the unit, reducing the need for repairs or replacements caused by weather-related damage.

Economiser with Spill Air

By using cooler outside air instead of running the compressor, when conditions allow, the Economy Cycle significantly reduces energy consumption, leading to lower operating costs, all while maintaining consistent comfort and supporting sustainability practices.

Controls

A Choice of Controllers

A range of controllers for Tri-Cap units are available, providing flexibility to meet various commercial needs. Options include remote monitoring and integration with building management systems (BMS), enhancing efficiency, energy management, and ease of use.

Foil-Faced Insulation for greater efficiency

25mm Foil-Faced Insulation aids with improving energy efficiency by reducing heat gain and loss. It also resists mould and mildew, thus promoting healthier indoor air quality and providing durable, long-lasting performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

This depends on how old your air conditioner is and if it is still covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

Your current ducted air conditioner has looked after you for a long time but is now starting to show its age by needing repairs which keep popping up. As you will know repairs can add up over time and a major issue like a compressor or outdoor coil replacement can cost you a considerable amount.

As an example, the cost to replace a compressor in an older air conditioner that operates with R22 refrigerant can be upwards of $3800 or to replace a damaged outdoor coil the cost is approx. $5500.

Remember, you will still be left with an older, less efficient air conditioner and with the possibility of other major repairs soon because of the air conditioner’s age.

When looking into air conditioning, it’s common to come across references to single or three phase power.

This simply refers to the method of power supply used in your home, with single phase air conditioners being suited to single phase power supply, and three phase air conditioners being suited to three phase power supply. As a general rule of thumb, three phase power supply is used on larger capacity systems, but the specifics vary from brand to brand. ActronAir’s comprehensive range of ducted air conditioners includes a wide array of choices for both single and three phase systems to suit houses of all shapes and sizes.

It’s really important to make sure you select an air conditioner that is compatible with your home power supply – rest easy, your ActronAir installer can assist you in making the correct choice as part of their cost and obligation-free consultation with you.

There are a number of differences between Ducted and Wall Hung Split systems.

A big difference is the amount of heating or cooling they can provide. Typically, Split systems are suited to treating smaller spaces like a single room, whereas Ducted systems are better at treating your entire home. That’s because Ducted systems usually come in bigger sizes than Split systems, allowing them to provide more powerful comfort to bigger areas.

Another obvious difference is how they look. With a Split system the indoor unit is usually mounted on your wall, whereas for the most part Ducted systems are more discrete, with most of the components of the system (like the indoor unit and ducting) installed inside your ceiling space, with the ceiling vents and the wall controls/sensors the only visible parts of the system inside your home.

Another crucial difference is zoning and advanced controls. For true efficiency and comfort, zoning is extremely important, and while Split systems can provide you with some advanced control options, for example mobile control apps like our Easy Connect, they don’t offer you any zoning options.

On the other hand most Ducted systems typically offer a wider range of controls to choose from – learn more about our award winning controls. And importantly, most Ducted systems also provide you with zoning options – thanks to our unique Tru-Zoning, no one does zoning better than ActronAir, with more choice, more inclusions, and smarter performance.

When it comes to controlling your comfort, we provide you with the widest range of control products to choose from – you can learn more about our controls range here.

The specific controls available to you will vary depending on which system you choose, with every product page on the website having a dedicated section outlining which control options are available – you can rest assured that regardless of which system you pick, you will have a range of options to choose from.
